By way of comparison, I paid 45K OTD for my 2012 Boss 302.

You can configure a $44k 4 cylinder Mustang pretty easy. Add a stripe, a slushbox, a floppy roof, some tech, and the big wheels.

Remember back in the old days when pony cars were slammed over and over again for being no good at the track, lacking in toys, crappy interiors, etc., etc.? Well, they listened.

Now every pony car you can get is pretty much on par with rivals from Europe in every area...including the price tag. Hoping people out there weren’t thinking they could get significantly better quality products for 0% markup relative to previous generations, because that’s how you set yourself up for disappointment.

This. I had an EcoStang auto convertible that cleaned back in the summer that was like $42k. It was ridiculous.

The good thing about the Camaro is that you can order pretty much everything a la carte. Unlike the Mustang, you can get pretty much any features you want with any engine. The bad thing about it is that the popular options are pretty expensive and do add up real fast.

The 2LT stickers at almost $31k to begin with, a V6 and automatic add $3,000, then check a couple more big boxes and you hit 40. Can’t really tell what this has, but a premium lighting package is $2800, the RS package is $2000, there’s several upgraded brake packages that run from $1300-$3200, and there’s a wheel upgrade that costs over 3 grand.

My 15 SS 1LE came in lower than that. Gotta prioritize on your options, broseph.

That’s still a deal. Try finding a new RWD, 300+hp, 6 cylinder sports car for anything cheaper, it won’t be as competent as a new Camaro that’s for sure.

TL;DR, inflation is a bitch

According to my math the only thing that fits that bill is a BMW M235, which will easily hit $50k with options.
